Chat Room

A chat room offers the opportunity to exchange text "conversation", in real time, between a couple or group of people, over the internet. 

It can be useful for keeping in touch with someone abroad - phone charges for internet access are normally at local rates or may even be free. 

NB. Two people can have a private "chat". 

Although access to a chat room is included on this site, it is not particularly likely that many ex-pupils or staff will simply happen to be on-line at the same time.  By all means give it a try though - you may just be lucky.

The main reason that it is available is to offer the facility for a pre-arranged chat session.  Look out for announcements on the Events page or you can suggest a time, via the message board, and see who joins in.  Another alternative is to get in touch with a few friends and arrange for them all to be on-line at a particular time.

Please be aware though, that the room is not password controlled.  It has not been advertised externally and is unlikely to be of interest to an "outsider".  However, a non-TGS person could  have gained access to a session.  If you are unsure of someone, test them out with a few pertinent questions!
